I received my Bachelor of Science degree student learning and behavior with a minor in education from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1995. My Masters degree in curriculum and instruction was completed in 1996 from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. I completed a year-long internship at Linden Elementary in Oak Ridge, TN. My certification is K - 8. My teaching career began at Normal Park in 1996 when it was known as Chattanoog Phoenix School I. I taught 1st grade for three years and kindergarten for one year. During this time I served on many committees to establish Hamilton County Standards. I was also involved in the Critical Friends Group through the Public Education Foundation. During this time, I was trained to be a Critical Friends Leader.

After moving to Soddy-Daisy, I taught at Soddy Elementary for six years. I was priviledged to have taught kindergarten and worked as a part-time Title I teacher. At this position, I was in charge of fund raising and curriculum design.

I am priviledged to be back at Normal Park! I taught 2nd grade for a year and I currently teach the science lab for Pre K - 2nd grade. It is a joy to come to work each day knowing that there are eager teachers and administration excited and willing to do all they can in order to ensure student understanding. What an exciting place!
