After teaching 5 years in another school system, I began investigating the possibility of teaching in a new and different environment. When I learned about the new magnet school that was being opened at Normal Park, I knew that I had found what I was looking for! I began my career at Normal Park Museum Magnet in 2002 as a third grade teacher. After two years, I was ready for a new adventure and moved to first grade where I stayed for almost 4 years. In January of 2008, an assistant principal position was created in anticipation of the Normal Park expansion. This position seemed like the most obvious next step in my journey. Being an assistant and site principal at Normal Park Museum Magnet has proven to be the most challenging and the most rewarding position that I have held in my 13 years in the field of education.

The charge of supporting teachers and students at Normal Park is a task that I look forward to performing each and every day. I find it exhilarating to witness the growth of our students and the high quality teaching that takes place on a daily basis in our school. I take pride in the fact that it is my responsibility to ensure that Normal Park is an environment that fosters great accomplishments and look forward to performing this duty for years to come!
